The Marathon XC will be limited to 500 racers. Last year we sold out, so register early!

Online registration is now closed, but you can still sign up in person on race day, Saturday May 31st from 8:00-9:30am (Cross Country only).

Cross Country race 2007

The Course

The cross country course is a 46.5 km loop with 1500m vertical. The course record held currently by Roland Green is 2 hr 13 minutes (2005). The average time to complete is 3 hr 30 min. The loop is considered to be nontechnical and combines approximately 40% double track, 10% single and 50% logging road. Excellent lungs and legs are a requirement as well as the love for climbing. The cut off at the 2nd feedstation will be 3½ hours.

Cycling BC Sanctioned

The SC Rat Race XC is sanctioned at a Provincial Championship Level — $10 (non insured) and $30 (insured) one day events are available.

Race Day Schedule

The start is a mass start at 10:30am with pro/elites leading the group unless registration warrants a stage.

May 31st 2008

The main event is the Epic Marathon Loop — a 46.5km course with 1500m of vertical. A shorter course will be raced by kids/youth — please see the Kids Mouse Race page for more info.

8:00–9:30am On-site Registration
Staging for the race will be at the entrance to the Equestrian Club.
10:30am Mass Start!
12:00pm Kids Awards
3:00pm Cross Country Awards and MarketPlace IGA Wilson Creek BBQ.
BBQ free to all participants. Additional tickets can be purchased on site for $10.00.

Prize Purse & Primes

Prize money will be awarded to top three overall males and females — any licences/categories. 1st = $250, 2nd = $150, 3rd = $100.

There will be 2 marked primes on course of $100 each (first male and female) and available to all categories.
